Amanda's Birthday

I made this for Amanda's birthday season. I hardly ever get cards in the mail on time, but that;s another story. She and I are huge fans of Moroccan and Indian motifs, so I thought she would like this.
I first used the reverse (matte) side of aluminum foil that I had glued to a piece of cardstock. I ran the sandwich through the Bigshot using the Moroccan Set embossing folder from Sizzix. I ran a bit of sponge and black acrylic paint to give it an aged look. Then, I colored highlights of the image with my copic and Bic Mark-It pens. (I have done this with mirrored cardstock before, but the alcohol distressed the surface. No problems with the aluminum foil, and MUCH cheaper.

Finally, I stamped the African elephant image from PSX (ca. 1991 sorry folks!) Then, I decorated the elephant and popped it up as the focal point. I was really pleased with the result. What do you think?!
